I See You…Is a book dedicated to everyone who has ever passed through a challenging situation and did not see or understand the plan of God in the challenge. It will inspire you and encourage you to introspect, but most importantly help you draw closer to your Creator. The One who sees you.

The poems lead one to get in touch with their inner most feelings. Acknowledging the pain and coming to the realization that during all life’s challenges you are not alone. Most importantly learning that all that happens in life has a purpose, even that which seems bad in our eyes.
One is reminded of the truth that God is in control and there’s hope for us, for a better future if we choose to trust in God. To trust the process and know that at the end of it all God loves us and the process is necessary so we may be perfected for Him to delight in us.

Reading these poems is an encouragement to bare my all and my questions to God as the writer has done. It profoundly encourages me to think of my own questions to God and interrogations just to know that I can speak to Him this way and He will speak back as it is shown in the poems. The conversation between the writer and God as she journeyed, had questions that she posed to God and I believe the answers she is writing are as a results of a conversation between the 2 of them and God imprinted the answers in her heart.
I feel like I am having a conversation with the writer. Therefore, I know or understand her better, the poems I read feel so personal and very intelligently articulated, they are beautiful really, and encourages me to be real before God in every situation. May you be encouraged as you read.

A few months ago, I started journaling just to cope with my pain but it is not something that comes naturally to me because I struggle so much with identifying and expressing my emotions. I have recently started using the poems in the book I SEE YOU as journal prompts and it has helped me tremendously in my healing and self-discovery journey by putting pen to paper. I have found that the pain I am passing through is so much like grief, it comes and goes in phases, at times I get triggered and it just hits me when I least expect it and sometimes there’s a slow build-up to a melt down or emotional explosion.
I am unable to read I SEE YOU in the in the order in which it has been written in, I often find that I go back and forth depending on how I am feeling at a particular time or even read one peon over and over again up until I pass the hurdle, I had been in.
No poem is like the other in the book; each poem serves its own individual purpose. For example, when I feel emotionally tired and overwhelmed, the poem “I see you” has the ability to just pause pain and helps me push a restart button. “Who am I really?” has helped me with positive self-acceptance affirmations.
This book is a great tool to have, not only for today but for obstacles to come. It is helps with identifying feelings and emotions during journaling. The poems are straight forward; and simple but an effective read. I would like to encourage everyone to purchase this hand, map / emotional and self-discovery guide.
Thank you.

In a world where feelings and emotions are overshadowed by what we perceive the world expects of us this book allows us to be one with ourselves. To embrace who and where we currently are in life without being overcome by our situation. The author, Thobile Xalisa, really captures essence of pain being as a birthing process of something greater rather than a place of despair. Reading this book and reflecting on each sentence has been a healing process and a liberator too many internal struggles. I highly recommend to this as a must read for everyone, the way you view who you are and pain will no longer be the same. God uses broken vessels which is you and I, He is the potter and this book will allow you to embrace yourself in Him. “Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honour and another for dishonour?” (Romans 9:21 NKJV) “I am Clay”
Shalom.

Overall, the poetry reads a lot like story telling with the following dominant themes:
God’s unconditional love towards us even when we feel under serving and imperfect
nothing happens for no reason behind every challenge there is a meaning and purpose,
there is purpose in pain. Never waste your personal or painful experiences because they help you to grow and discover your true identify
Poems that had the most impact are those where writer drew from her personal experiences, incorrect assumptions that she had made about herself and life in general. These resonated a lot because that’s where most of us are stuck.
Thank you.
